The City of Jerusalem starts pilot project with a fully integrated PARKOM system by Mobilisis

The City of Jerusalem started a pilot project with a system that informs drivers about available parking spaces in areas with frequent traffic around Emek Refa'im Street. Mobilisis and Israeli partners delivered a system for 10 streets with a total of 200 parking spaces with Parkom Sensors that precisely detect availability or occupancy of every parking space and allows parked vehicle to be identified with a Smartphone App or In Car Device unit.

This is a brand new solution for "Smart parking." PARKOM is the first system worldwide that offers complete and comprehensive solution that solves and integrates all disciplines and needs of modern parking that benefit drivers, city representatives and local communities. With PARKOM, users, parking enforcement and operators are all connected into one system without the need for multiple systems. With this solution, the City of Jerusalem provides a state-of-the art system for navigation to the nearest available parking space and also collects valuable statistical data about on-street parking space usage.

System functionality is based on cables with integrated sensors installed into the ground surface that provide information about parking space availability and identifies parking space users through a cloud-based infrastructure.

When a user needs to park, the app advices on an available parking spot. Once parked, the system manages the time and costs and the user receives a detailed invoice at the end of the month. The user benefits with reliable and prompt information about available parking spaces, reliable and transparent information about time and parking status, without confusions with rules, traffic signs and regulations. There is also a money saving component for users in the case of forgetting to extend parking session. With this features, PARKOM is a total user-friendly way of parking.

Structural parts of a system are also LED signs that show parking space availability at the main street. This system is unique in Jerusalem because it detects with precision occupancy or availability on unmarked parking spaces where vehicles are parked on undefined spaces that require totally new and innovative approach in detection methods.

The newly patented MagSense system is organized in a BUS with equal space between sensors that allows detection of available space regardless of vehicle position and vehicle length. Citizens, tourists, businessmen etc. can freely download the Android or iPhone App and use it n a simple way to locate closest parking space at their destination. This App also supports Find My Car (FMC) option which is a top standard in this service.
