Q-Park Is Expanding Its Portfolio In Cologne

From May 1, 2024, Q-Park will also operate the “Barthonia Forum” parking facility in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

Q-Park will be the new parking space manager for the underground car park of the “Barthonia Forum” property in Cologne-Ehrenfeld from May 1st, 2024.

True to the motto “May makes everything new”, Q-Park will be the new parking space manager for the underground car park of the “Barthonia Forum” property in Cologne-Ehrenfeld from May 1st, 2024. Located directly on the popular shopping mile on Venloer Straße, more precisely at Vogelsanger Straße 84 at the corner of Venloer Straße 231. The former, listed production facilities of the world-famous “4711 - Real Cologne Water” manufacturer Mühlens are located on the site of today's Barthonia Forum.

The property is an underground car park with a total of 1,043 parking spaces spread over two levels. There are around 569 parking spaces available for long-term parkers. There are also parking spaces for disabled people and women.

Q-Park will lease and manage the parking property on a long-term basis. The Barthonia Forum already has a parking guidance system. The entire parking technology in the underground car park will be renewed and will in future feature license plate recognition and Q-Park's own PaSS system. Furthermore, Q-Park is already planning to implement publicly usable EV charging parking spaces, new signage, LED lighting and the purchase of cleaning machines. The property is currently being extensively repaired and a new fire protection concept is being developed after the space above the property has already been renovated.

The target group of the property is primarily Kaufland customers and visitors to the Central Mosque, which is the largest mosque in Germany and welcomes many visitors. Visitors to Venloer Straße in Ehrenfeld, day tourists, FOM students and corresponding surrounding office users are also in focus.

The current opening hours of the Barthonia Forum underground car park are Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the future, the property will have night access and a total of four women's emergency call buttons.

In the future, the parking garage will be connected to a 24-hour service control center. Thanks to the new technology, Q-Park will offer booking and reservation options via its homepage and extensive payment methods via Q-Park 's own app. This means customers can book their parking space in advance and park their car in a guaranteed parking space when they arrive.

Two pay stations will be installed for cashless payments and two for full service, i.e. both cash and card payments.

Rates for parking at Barthonia Forum are €2.00 per hour, with a daily maximum of €29.00. During the first week of operation of the underground car park by Q-Park, parking will be provided free of charge for all short-term parking customers as a welcome gift from May 1st, 2024 to May 6th, 2024 . Kaufland customers will continue to be granted free parking for the first 120 minutes.
