Semi-active RFID solutions

Semi-active-RFID-solutionsReaders using RFID technology can be used to identify vehicles and drivers quickly and automatically from a distance. Semi-active RFID is a technology that operates with very little interference or environmental noise. The identifiers are battery powered and with that they send very strong signals. Therefore, it provides high levels of security, even in harsh environments, and are well-suited to long-range identification of trucks, ambulances, buses and taxis.

Security and efficiency

Nedap offers a TRANSIT product range of readers and tags which is based on semi-active RFID technology. TRANSIT readers and tags are ideal for use in situations where a high level of security and efficiency are important. These readers are extremely accurate and recognize vehicles and their drivers at the same time, which improves safety. They also offer an adjustable reading distance, vertical and horizontal recognition and this prevents congestion at busy times.

The high-end reader TRANSIT Ultimate is designed to perform well in high security applications, demanding vehicular access control applications and under harsh environmental conditions. Passive UHF solutions

Passive UHF solutionsBy using UHF RFID technology, vehicles and drivers can be quickly identified via a passive UHF tag or a card. It’s a cost-effective way to increase security while avoiding congestion at gated vehicle entrances and exits.

Convenient and efficient

Passive UHF technology makes it possible to identify each vehicle (and driver) quickly and securely. With this, you help to keep traffic moving and to ensure a smooth welcome. Nedap has a broad product range of passive UHF readers and tags, called uPASS portfolio. With a long, adjustable read range, it’s easy to place these readers in a suitable location, and uPASS tags can be positioned in or on vehicles for secure, automatic identification.

Mobile and cards solutionsAs more secure and convenient identification technologies become available, from low-frequent and high-frequent cards to mobile credentials like QR codes or virtual IDs, a multi-technology reader is a sensible investment. And one that enables use of the latest developments, including mobile access control and contactless identification.

Improve convenience, security and hygiene

Mobile access control, which lets people use their smartphone to access car parks, buildings and more, can increase convenience and security. It can even help reduce the spread of infections by eliminating the need to touch anything but your own smartphone to gain access to sites, car parks and buildings.

The flexibility to choose identifiers

It might not, however, be convenient to issue everyone with a virtual access card. For visitors, it may be more streamlined to send a QR code from the visitor management system. Or it might be preferable to continue using smartcards or proximity cards for employees, instead of or as well as mobile access.

Nedap’s ANPR products allow for long-range identification of vehicles, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications.

LPR or ANPR is a great solution for granting temporary or incidental vehicle access for employees or visitors. It is a good-value choice that makes it easy for reception teams, as there’s no need to issue (expensive) tags to visitors. It can also be used for ongoing vehicle access for employees, so they don’t experience the inconvenience of being always aware of bringing a tag to work.
