The role & the challenge

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building and managing data solutions within a modern Snowflake environment. You will help unlock data from various source systems, build reliable data pipelines and realize data marts that contribute to strategic and operational decision making. Together with the team, you will establish a solid foundation for Opcharge’s growth and scalability.

You will work closely with our IT and data lead, other internal stakeholders and external partners to develop and improve our data infrastructure. In addition to technical data engineering skills, we are looking for someone who doesn’t mind doing ad-hoc analysis and visualizing results in Power-BI.

Responsibilities

In this entrepreneurial role, you will initially build on the foundation we have developed with an external Partner (Hot Item). The first version of a dashboard, which forms the basis of our data-driven approach, is live. It will be up to you to further develop the initial initiatives. Core responsibilities in this role include:

Developing data pipelines:

  • Building and optimizing scalable and reliable data pipelines in Snowflake.
  • Implement and maintain a Data Vault architecture as a foundation for data processing.
  • Unlock data from various source systems, such as databases, APIs and flat files.

Realization of data marts and analyses:

  • Develop data marts that provide actionable insights for strategic and operational processes.
  • Support data analysis by preparing datasets and making them user-friendly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data sources and insights with organizational goals.

Data visualization and reporting (pre):

  • Developing Power BI reports to visualize insights and support data-driven decision making.
  • Work on user-friendly dashboards that meet the needs of the organization.

Quality and governance:

  • Ensure data quality, integrity and security within data streams and systems.
  • Document data processes and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Skills & experience

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset,

  • Communicative strong and focused on collaboration with various stakeholders,
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines in Snowflake,
  • Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 is a strong plus,
  • Experience in accessing data from various sources (SQL, APIs).
  • Experience with data visualization, e.g. Power BI, is a plus.

Training

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science or similar field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.
