The Lead Business Analyst will manage relationships with product owners, facilitate work in-take and prioritization, and break down high-level client requirements into detailed features/functions/stories for the development team to execute on.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring in support of best practices for work intake, grooming and delivering of features/stories to Engineering.
Work alongside stakeholders to support the vision for the product and anticipate requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, developing, and implementing solutions through the collaboration of all teams.
Effectively communicate with the technical team and client
Work with Product Owner on work in-take, prioritization, and requirements discovery
Drive 5 iteration planning and execution against it
Functional requirements discovery and definition; Coordinate with UX and Product Owner
Coordinate work effort among the other BAs
Review stories/acceptance criteria to drive towards groomed stories ready for iteration.
Decompose requirements into specific and actionable development stories with the consultation of the development team(s). Associated activities include:
Story creation and elaboration (detailed description and acceptance criteria)
Story administrative maintenance (updates to story point sizing, sequencing)
Story backlog administration (organization of bodies of related work, applying Epic labels)
Provide ongoing consultation and clarification of the Features and Stories mentioned above to development team resources
Coordinate and execute UAT, create documentation and training
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required, the company is willing to accept experience or a combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree
8+ years of business analysis or product management experience, required
Ability to translate between technical and non-technical language, required
Experience with SaaS companies is a plus
Interest in mobility systems and transportation policy
Experience in an Agile/Scrum driven delivery methodology
Experience with JIRA, Rally Agile Software, or similar enterprise development tools
Extensive experience working in a mature agile environment
Knowledge or understanding of how systems work. Exposure to application components: UI, web services, server architecture, system architecture, databases
Strong linear focus: Should be able to walk through detail for planning and executing a sprint
Very strong communication – Ability to articulate complex problems to internal teams, as well as confidence in communicating with senior-level stakeholders effectively
Strong emotional intelligence - Very efficient in identifying with their target audience and communicating appropriately
Highly organized, self-starter, with strong analytical skills
