What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire an Architect within our PayByPhone line of business based in Vancouver, Canada. Reporting to the Chief Architect for Vehicle solutions, as an Architect, you will perform an architecture leadership role for the maintenance division. In this role, you will lead the design of the system changes, assist in building a multiyear roadmap for the specific products and services and input into transforming how we deliver them. In addition, you will collaborate with other architects and tech teams to promote standards, ensure best practices, extract reusable assets, and assist with problem solving.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Collaborating with business and technology teams to understand and define future roadmaps, and create platform architecture that enables business and technology vision and goals
  • Implementing the technical strategy and IT reference architectures to guide the successful delivery of Maintenance domain IT solutions
  • Developing and driving adoption of technology standards and architecture patterns across the organization
  • Keeping on top of wider potential technologies and approaches to address current and future technology needs, and assist in the evaluation of their applicability and fit
  • Managing solution architecture colleagues, coach and mentor members of the IT teams to provide technical oversight.
  • Building effective relationships with business and key technical resources to influence technology solutions
  • Providing technical evaluation of proposed project ideas, software changes and future product releases
  • Understanding and help address risk, privacy, cybersecurity and legal constraints on data
  • Participating in technical due diligence and decisions for future M&A activities

Demonstrable Experience

  • Taking businesses on a journey to cloud computing from a traditional on premise environment
  • The ability to work with limited and changing requirements
  • Deconstructing monolithic legacy systems to a best of breed set of build and buy services and solutions
  • Building open, connected solutions using a mixture of real time streaming, API
  • Aligning data across different platforms, business areas and technical systems
  • Building roadmaps to reflect dependencies and priorities to all levels of stakeholders
  • Delivering appropriate solution architectures and making the process and compromises clear to different stakeholders

Education & Experience

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in architecture roles for mid-sized to large enterprises
  • 3 - 5 years of enterprise architecture experience
  • Have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving with demonstrable verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to create detailed documents and present to steering committee or key stakeholders
  • Demonstrable examples of leading software design and architecture
  • Deep knowledge of platform architecture concepts, best practices, objectives, and processes
  • Experience with Agile software development preferably with an onshore-offshore model
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to build relationships across multiple functions and geographies

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Experience with cloud architectures. AWS experience a plus.
  • Proven technical leadership experience in delivery of IT projects
  • Experience with architecting systems in a regulatory, corporate reporting or similar environment. PCI DSS and financial services a plus.
  • Proven initiative to build relationships, learn new technologies and seek opportunities

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $175,000 -$190,000 CAD annually. We consider several factors when determining a proposed hourly rate, including but not limited to: experience, education, location, budget, and internal equity. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes fairness and consistency, and job offers will be evaluated case-by-case.
