Inside Sales Specialist (Columbia, US)


Position Summary

Assists Channel Sales Managers, systems integrators, and end users with sales, initial lead evaluation, and outbound sales generation. Gives presentations to potential clients, manages smaller projects, and supports the outside sales team to ensure they can focus on sales.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Help troubleshoot problems with customer orders, customer accounts and other related issues
  • First contact for incoming leads and passing appropriate leads to outside sales team
  • Conduct outbound lead generation calls
  • Provide the sales team with data reports and sales guides
  • Monitor sales performance through sales tracking tools and report progress to sales representatives
  • Identify and keep up with sales trends
  • Work with Channel Sales Managers to create and implement targeted sales strategies
  • Keep up with new product launches and make sure the sales team is up to date on all product offerings
  • Provide customer service by staying on top of pending orders and customer requests
  • Identify where improvement is needed in sales practices and make suggestions for improvements
  • Support Director of Channel Partnerships as required

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a pre-sales or technical solution sales associate for a technology company
  • Comfortable with 5-10% travel

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer software systems including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of customer relationship management software and data analysis
  • Possess the capability to work with a team and individually
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and dedication to customer satisfaction
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Knowledge of sales practices and the most efficient customer service techniques
  • Ability to interpret sales metrics and perform data entry
  • Strong attention to detail
