Ballast Nedam: P+R Genneper Parken

The P + R parking garage that will be built at the Genneper Parken in the south of Eindhoven, can accommodate about 640 cars. From the autumn of 2020, visitors to Eindhoven can park their car at the P + R and then travel to the center by public transport or bicycle.

Parking and ambulance station

The ambulance station for GGD Brabant-Zuidoost will also be located in the parking garage. The sketch design, made in collaboration with JHK Architects, consists of a five-floor parking garage. The entrance is at the south side of the parking garage. The ambulance station, with one level, is located on the north side of the garage. This has a direct connection to the bus lane, so that ambulances have quick access.

Sustainability

For the fit in the surroundings of Genneper Parken, the lower part on the outside of the garage will be covered with ivy. The floors above are open and get a natural look through slats made of sustainable material. By using solar panels, the garage will be delivered energy neutral.

Starting in 2020

The remainder of 2019 will be used to work out the design and apply for the necessary permits. In the meantime, the municipality of Eindhoven will have the Aalsterweg adjusted, so that the traffic flow towards the highway remains guaranteed. The parking garage will be built on the current field of soccer club RPC. Around Christmas, the soccer club will move to Sportpark Heihoef after which construction can start. According to the schedule, the parking garage and the ambulance post can be used in the autumn of 2020.
