Commend and Genetec Announce Intercom Technology Partnership

Commend, a global leader and supplier of security and communication systems, and Genetec™, a leading provider of unified IP security solutions, today announced a strategic technology partnership.

In this relationship, Commend will become a preferred technology hardware partner for Genetec end-users with its globally deployed intercom system, leveraging session initiation protocol (SIP) for superior voice and video over internet protocol (VOIP) communication.

With integration into Genetec Security Center, a unified security platform that seamlessly blends IP security surveillance systems within a single intuitive interface, the Commend intercom control systems will allow Genetec end-users to install useful VOIP and analog intercom and video connectivity within any facility. Thanks to the flexibility of Commend’s Intercom solutions, integration is not limited to SIP technology and holds the potential for incorporating a wide range of powerful Intercom features and functions in the future.

Apart from the existing range of hardware-based Intercom Servers, the integrated Commend solution also supports VirtuoSIS^®, the world’s first and only software-based Intercom Server. Designed to support the latest high-end in Intercom technology, the servers’ built-in SIP capabilities even cater to users who need more than just basic SIP support. This includes customers with existing virtual server environments who can take full advantage by VirtuoSIS^®.

Additonally, Security Center end-users will be able to benefit from Commend’s range of SIP terminals, which take SIP technology to a whole new level by enhancing it with Commend’s powerful call management, customization and security features that incorporate 40 years of experience and perfection.
