Commend receives national award

Since last week our green heart is beating a little faster: we received a national award for our efforts regarding sustainable climate protection.

It was given as part of the klimaaktiv program, an initiative of the Austrian Ministry for Agriculture, Environment and Water Management, and it is meant to acknowledge firms who are committed to environmental standards and a sustainable reduction of their CO2 footprint.

Our colleagues Heinz Ebner and Roland Eichberger accepted the award from the hands of Federal Minister Andrä Ruprechter himself. Obviously Commend is setting a good example not just in terms of security communication but also where climate protection is concerned.

For instance, through our pool cars, which have been operating since last summer to get colleagues to work and back safely and in an environmentally friendly way. This is because the cars use environmentally safe natural gas. The two pool cars alone save around 24 individual car trips a day, which translates into roughly 147,000 km annually. That’s a whopping 24 tonnes (!) less of carbon dioxide being blown into the nice Salzburg air every year.
