Review of the education fair HeDu (Hey You), an education cooperation of Hectronic and Dunkermotoren

From the 09th June to the 12th June 2010, Hectronic and Dunkermotoren hosted for the first time a joint education fair on their company premises. Both companies introduced their apprenticeships and degree courses.

Furthermore, a panel discussion was held on the Thursday evening with the topic  Engage, support and commit a young qualified workforce to rural areas".

A broad program was offered during the education fair:

Tour through both companies, Management game for the commercial apprenticeships: Industrial Manager and Trained Assistant for Warehousing Logistics, Games to foster an understanding of the different degree courses, a chance to try soldering for the apprenticeship for Equipment and Systems Electrician, a chance to get an insight into the Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship by assembling sharpeners made from engine housings, information provided by the Employment Agency, CCI, Cooperative State University Lörrach, Cooperative State University Villingingen Schwenningen, the University Furtwangen and the Trade Chamber, job application training by IKK (Trade Guild Illness Fund) and information about each apprenticeship and degree course provided by the trainees and trainers.

All pupils received an information folder and a participation confirmation. The pupils could also collect points when they participated at the games and visited the individual stations and then enter into a prize draw. The prize was two cinema tickets. The visitors were also well catered for with drinks, fresh fruit and soft pretzels.

The pupils were very interested as were the trainees at Hectronic and Dunker who very much enjoyed sharing their knowledge with the pupils and to introduce their apprenticeship through fun and games. The education fair was well attended on all days and the general interest was great.

Another event was the table football tournament on Friday night. This was reserved, however, for the trainees and trainers of both companies. It was a fun and wonderful evening. The trainees especially thought it was great to get to know the trainees of the other company.

On Saturday, the education fair also hosted a performance of the pantomime Pablo Zibes. He entertained and amused the visitors.

There is only one final thing to say: the first education fair was a full-on success.
