MSR-Traffic received the contract for the social center in Austria

The new social center in Mayrhofen decided to implement a parking guidance system from Austrian branch of MSR-Traffic. The social center Mayrhofen is the next project for MSR-Traffic in the Zillertal area right after the car park in Gerlos.

The strategy and objective of MSR-Traffic sounds simple: Optimization of parking space capacity within the car park. Moreover less searching traffic means less fuel consumption, less exhaust gases and therefore a lower environmental impact.

Above each parking space within the car park ultra-sonic sensors with integrated LEDs were implemented detecting and indicating the occupancy of each space. The status of each parking space will be forwarded to the host computer for further evaluations. The host computer controls the connected dynamic signs to guide drivers to free parking spaces. In order to prevent drivers from turning into a parking zone with not enough free spaces, previous lane counting was also implemented in the MSR-Traffic system. This measurement delivers the customer a highly available and accurate system, which integrates not only the parked cars, but also the searching traffic.
