Dynamic indoor parking guidance at the Spar supermarket in Vienna

MSR-Traffic has provided a dynamic indoor parking guidance system with single space detection for a Spar supermarket in Vienna

Vienna, the capital of Austria, has a population of about 1.8 millionand of course parking is always a challenge. The Austrian office of MSR-Traffic in Korneuburg (near Vienna) was assigned with the implementation of this dynamic indoor parking guidance system for this Spar supermarket garage in the 20^th district of Vienna. In this specific area you have to pay for on-street parking per time otherwise you will be charged. Therefore it is even more important for the customers to know if there are free parking slots in the garage because they are for free.

Our customer decided to install a stand-alone system, which means that it includes neither a central computer nor the software ParkGard Control Center. Each parking slot in the parking garage is equipped with ultrasonic sensors with integrated status LEDs. The major advantage of these integrated status LEDs is low installation costs due to less wiring. At the entrance of the garage a text display shows the customers if there are available parking slots in the garage.
