ParkMobile to Provide Contactless Parking Payments for the Village of Lake George

Amid COVID-19 Concerns, Residents and Visitors Will Have the Option to Skip the Meter and Pay for Parking via Mobile App

ParkMobile in the Village of Lake George

ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the U.S., announced today a new partnership with the Village of Lake George in New York to allow residents and visitors to pay for parking on their mobile device. The ParkMobile app will be available at more than 650 metered on-street spaces and in off-street lots throughout the city during the summer season. With the recent COVID-19 crisis, many city leaders are encouraging residents and visitors to use the app instead of the meter to prevent the spread of the virus.

We applaud the Village of Lake George for pursuing this idea, especially now when touchless experiences are so important. It’s just another way we are working to protect our community and visitors against the spread of COVID-19.”

ParkMobile is the #1 parking app in the U.S. with over 19 million users and is available for both iPhone and Android devices. To pay for parking with the ParkMobile app, a user enters the zone number posted on the stickers and signs around the meter. The user then selects the amount of time needed and touches the “Start Parking” button to begin the session. The user can also extend the time of the parking session on their mobile device, without having to go back to the meter.

ParkMobile has a large presence in the state of New York and across the Tri-State Area with over 3 million users in the region. In New York State, the app is available in Buffalo, Rochester, Ithaca, White Plains, Syracuse, New York City and more. Beyond New York, the app can be used in to pay for parking in over 400 cities across the U.S. and is widely available along the Northeast corridor from Washington, DC., to Philadelphia, to Newark.

This new partnership between the Village of Lake George and ParkMobile will make parking more convenient,” says Gina Mintzer, Executive Director, Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB. “We applaud the Village of Lake George for pursuing this idea, especially now when touchless experiences are so important. It’s just another way we are working to protect our community and visitors against the spread of COVID-19. The Village of Lake George is one of approximately 200 organizations that have taken the Lake George Region/Southern Adirondacks Health & Safety Pledge.”

We’re excited to bring contactless parking payments to the Village of Lake George,” says Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile. “We have a large base of ParkMobile users in the local area who will now be able to easily and safely pay for parking on their mobile device.”
