Statewide Procurement Results in Passport’s Mobile Pay Service Receiving Highest Rating

The Massachusetts-based Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) Names Passport its Highly Recommended Mobile Pay Vendor

Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC)

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has announced its selection of Passport as the highly recommended vendor of mobile pay services after an exhaustive RFP process for various types of parking services. As a result of this collective procurement process, any municipality in the state of Massachusetts will now have the option to contract directly with any of the approved vendors.

Passport has a proven track record of deploying mobile payments in municipalities of all sizes across the U.S. and Canada. Municipalities routinely choose Passport as their mobile pay provider of choice due to Passport’s unparalleled ability to tailor solutions to specific customers.  Recently, Passport has closely partnered with the City of Boston, MA to seamlessly deploy ParkBoston, the region’s largest mobile pay program. Residents and visitors to Boston from nearby communities have repeatedly commented on the new ParkBoston mobile payment service’s simplicity and convenience.  Municipalities in the MAPC’s region now have the opportunity to join the ParkBoston network or the world-class PassportParking Mobile Pay service as part of this procurement process.

“It’s very exciting to present an opportunity for the entire community and region to be on a unified network,” said Conor Kelly, Vice President of Sales for the region. “The Greater Boston area and beyond is nationally recognized for its incredibly strong and loyal people. Now Passport and the MAPC can offer a technology that supports and leverages that camaraderie.”

“This choice goes well beyond the meter itself,” said Marc Draisen, Executive Director of MAPC. “With this new technology, it’s possible to implement demand–responsive pricing, which can reduce congestion, make it easier to find a space, and even help some drivers to save money” As a result of the procurement, municipalities in Massachusetts can simply visit the MAPC website, choose their desired meters from any of the selected vendors and submit the form to the MAPC.
