Urbiotica Launches Its U-Spot IoT Surface
The Flexible and Precise Alternative That the Market Demanded

Urbiotica expands its range of parking space detection sensors with the launch of U-Spot IoT for surface installation, a new version of the successful U-Spot M2M and 3.0 parking sensor, which maintains the same reliability and accuracy with faster and easier installation.
With this innovation, Urbiotica responds to market needs and opens new opportunities for integrators and administrations, allowing the implementation of plaza detection systems in projects where, until now, the installation of buried sensors was not viable or competitive.
What Changes?
U-Spot Surface offers the same technology and reliability as our in-ground sensor, but with an optimized package for surface installation. This solution allows:
- Lower installation cost: Agile installation without major technical requirements, optimising time and resources.
- Increased flexibility: Can be installed in a variety of environments without the need for drilling.
- More project opportunities: Access tenders and sectors where previously the installation of buried sensors was a limiting factor.
Quick Installation Adapted to Every Need
This new U-Spot VISIO functionality is designed to address a number of challenges in parking management in non-Spot areas. The U-Spot Surface has been designed to adapt to different environments and installation needs:
- With screws: Urbiotica's standard method, offering maximum stability and resistance to vandalism.
- With adhesive: Ideal option in environments where drilling is not allowed, facilitating its installation without affecting the existing surface.
When to Choose the U-Spot Surface?
The surface version is the best choice for environments where a more agile and economical installation is required without compromising accuracy.
- Indoor and off-street car parks, where an underground installation can be more expensive or unnecessary, or also when it is intended to install alternatives to wired systems to eliminate electrical dependencies and reduce maintenance costs.
- Roofs and modular structures, where drilling or soil movements cannot be carried out.
- Projects with installation cost restrictions, making it feasible to detect spaces in more spaces.
On the other hand, the buried version is still the best option for:
- Areas with a high risk of vandalism.
- Public spaces with specific regulations on surface elements.
- Countries with frequent snow, where the sensor is protected from damage by snowplows.
One More Step in the Digitalisation of Car Parks
The launch of the U-Spot IoT Surface reinforces Urbiotica's commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in parking and mobility management. With this new version, we expand the possibilities of implementation and facilitate the deployment of parking guidance systems in more environments.
